The Long Yard
The Long Yard is a fully fenced and purpose-designed area within the Brookfield Showgrounds, positioned alongside Brookfield Oval. It features a high-quality multipurpose sand arena, complemented by an adjoining holding yard, making it particularly well suited to equestrian use.
The space is equipped with overhead lighting, allowing for extended use into the evening, and is supported by a grandstand terrace with seating for up to 500 people. The arena is also easily viewed from nearby facilities, including the Pony Club Canteen and Brookfield Members’ Bar, providing excellent visibility for spectators and event organisers.
The Long Yard is primarily used for equestrian activities, including competitions, training and events. It plays a central role during the annual Brookfield Show, hosting key ring events, and is also the setting for the Brookfield Show Society’s Bush Christmas.

Half Day Rate:
Daylight (8am-12pm) (1-5pm): $143
Evening (6-10pm): $198 (Including Lights)
Full Day Rate:
Daylight (8am-5pm): $286
Evening (1-10pm) $396 (Including Lights)
Major Events: Negotiable (Minimum $825/day)
Hire Disclaimer
For equestrian use the area is ONLY available to current members of the Brookfield Horse & Pony Club. The area CANNOT be hired for large-scale musical events or occasions that exceed the maximum capacity. Events considered incompatible with Brookfield Showgrounds’ culture will also be prohibited.
